ESD ESOL resources
In 2021, HOLEX was commissioned by the Education and Training Foundation to develop education for sustainable development (ESD) resources for educators, teachers and practitioners who teach English for speakers of other languages (ESOL).
The resources were developed and tested by Manchester Adult Education Service, Idea Store at Tower Hamlets Council and Westminster Adult Education Service.
All resources are available here on the ETF website.

The various resources aim to provide ESOL practitioners with inspiration, resources to ‘adapt and adopt’, and tools to better understand and enhance their ESD practice.
Resources included a Curriculum audit, a set of Sustainability Starts, a Green Week Toolkit and a set of resources to tackle local sustainability issues.
These resources were developed within the adult education context, specifically for ESOL teams. However, other teams may find them useful; other departments have already adapted them to make them relevant for different groups of learners and they will also certainly be useful to those in other further education settings too.
